Dear Learned People,
I have got exemption in CA final in direct Tax in May2010
Now in Nov 2010 I have not cleared the group but got 65 marks in IDT now I want to knw now do I have to give only other two papers or IDT also?
Please guide as I have been told one does not get exemption when we are already availing one exemption.

Hi Divya,
whoever has told u that u cannot claim another exemption when u are already holding one is right. hence, u will have to appear for IDT as well in the coming exams.
but bcoz the old syllabus is no longer available for testing, u will have to register ur self as a candidate under the new syllabus for the May '11 exams. thus u will lose ur exemption in DT also.

Hi,
You need not register again for the new syllabus.But you kindly contact the regional council office in person and enquire about the double exemption.
By the by kindly give the book details which helped you to get exemption in IDT and DT to alsivasankar@gmail.com.How many times you revised each subject before exam.
