Should PPF interest must claimed every year as exempt income ? I was not aware till now. What should I do?

yes.. but is it must to show it in Income claimed exempt( in return ) every year.....

Yes....it is exempt from income tax but is it must to be shown as Income claimed exempt in return..every year.!
