Excise registration for trader

25 March 2015 One of my client has a turnover of 84 lacs in previous financial year and they trade in engineering goods. Is it necessary for them to take excise registration to pass on the excise credit ?

25 March 2015 Yes , to pass cenvat credit a trader need to be registers with excise department.

25 March 2015 Please can you give details of the sections , rules and amendments supporting your answer.

25 March 2015 Rule 7A of Cenvat Credit rules 2004

24 April 2015 Whether the trader needs to get registered as first stage dealer or second stage dealer.

What are the documents to be submitted to the department . How many sets are required to be prepared?
