Dear Sir,
Is excise duty changed from 12% to 10% w.e.f. 30.05.2012 & if yes then please provide me notification number.

Rumours floated by mongers that excise duty has been lowered to 10 per cent due to rescinding of Notification which provided 12 per cent duty-It is clarified that there is no change in rate of duty-Notification has been rescinded because Tariff Rate itself is now 12 per cent consequent to enactment of Finance Act 2012
