This discussion clarifies dividend entitlement after selling shares around the ex-dividend date. The user sold shares on 18.02.2021, with the ex-dividend date and record date both set for 19.02.2021. Initially, the user did not receive the dividend, leading to confusion about their entitlement. Advice was given to contact the broker, who confirmed the shares had transferred on the 18th, meaning the dividend would go to the broker. Ultimately, the dividend was received through the broker, resolving the issue.

Contact the broker they will clarify it. On 18th itself the shares would have been transferred so you are not receiving dividend. Dividend might have been received by the broker contact him.

Dear Share holder,
With reference to the trailing mail we wish to inform you that the record date for payment of interim dividend for the year 2020-21 interim is 19.02.2021 EOD. If the shares were sold before this day or purchased after this day, the shares do not qualify for dividend.
