Error in IT E-filing portal

20 July 2022 Namaste,

I am trying to file ITR 5 for a Housing Owners Association (non audit AOP/BOI) for AY 2022-23 primarily to take refund of some TDS on our deposit in bank. I have used Offline utility to fill the form. Form is validated successfully but on submitting the JSON in portal I get following error -

"PAN mentioned in the return in verification part does not match with PAN of authorized person"

The PAN in verification section is added as Key Person in My Profile. PAN is also added in partner list in General Information section.

Any suggestions to solve this will be of great help to me. Thank you.

under partner's list, select your self as KEY person. that is 'Authorized Person' to sign...

There is no option in the form to select a Key person. And I only see following fields in partner list -

Name, Country, Pin, State, City, Address, Status, Percentage of share, PAN, Aadhaar, Aadhaar Enrolment ID, Designated Partner Identification Number, Rate of Interest on Capital, Remuneration paid / payable

Out of this only Status has some value that may change something. Right now I have selected "Individual". Other relevant options are -

"Individual - working partner", "Individual - retired partner", "Principal Officer"

Will changing "Status" affect this?

20 July 2022 Are you Designated partner?
If yes select that, if you are going to sign the ITR.

There is no option like "Designated Partner".

The error is mentioned in Income Tax API specification - https://www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal/sites/default/files/2021-11/API_SubmitFlow_v1.1.pdf

But there is no information on what is the meaning of that. In which scenario, system should give this error.

21 July 2022 Yes, I had filed a complaint with e-Filing Helpdesk. They have said they have escalated the matter and asked me to wait. I will update their response here.
