Error during Return preparation of 27Q

16 July 2020 I am getting the list of errors while preparing 27Q return in Stacos program which reads as " The Challan Total cannot be less than the Sum Total of all the Deductees under this Challan including interest and others (Column O + P + Q)."

Whereas the Column O is 'TDS/TCS Cess', Column P is 'Sum of 'Total Income Tax Deducted / Collected at Source' (TDS - Income Tax +Surcharge +Cess )' and Column Q is 'TDS / TCS - Interest Amount'

Please advice in resolving the above issues.

17 July 2020 @Suresh M.Moolya, Your challan amount should tally with Tax deduction amount mapped with that challan. Suppose in an ETDS return preparation. you are using a challan for Rs.10000, of which Rs.500 paid as Interest, then TDS entries mapped with that challan should be less or equal to Rs.9500 only. You can not consume more than that amount for deductees. Like this, challan amount includes penalty etc.
