Efiling of income tax returns

05 February 2013 one of our collegue has filed the income returns for 2010-11 thru a consultant, password is set by consultant and now the consultant is no more.

for filing it returns for 2011-12, he is unable to get the password by using forgot password.

now my query is how to recover the password & know secret question and answer from the department website.

05 February 2013 Ascertain whether the e-filing registration done with your colleague's email & Mobile or Consultant's email and mobile.

If same is registered with consultant's email ID, the new password will go to his mail ID and it will be difficult to get the password, secret question etc in absence of your email.

It is better to obtain password from consultant, login e-filing site and change your profile by modifying with your email and mobile for future filing and reference.
