MY CONSIGNMENT DATE IS 28/05/2018. SO HOW MUCH TIME BEFORE I HAVE TO GENERATE E-WAY BILL

you can generate immediately before movement of goods

You can generate it at time of dispatch of goods if you are using self transport or hired vehicle. For hired vehicle you will be able to put vehicle number only once you hire it and same vehicle is used. If you use services of a transporter / GTA who is registered as a transporter or is a GST registered assessee, you only have to put his ID and the approx distance in part B of the EWB and Generate. The EWB is not yet valid and only becomes valid when either you or transporter adds document number and the vehicle number.
