E Payment of TDS

01 May 2009 Dear Sir,

I want to know is it compulsory to pay TDS online as our account is in citi bank and there is no facility for e paymnet of taxes from citi bank. Every month we used to pay cheque in favour of Andhra bank Income Tax Account. Can we pay from Andhra Bank now also.

03 May 2009 Yes form A.Y.09-10 it's mandatory to pay TDS online & for online payment you have to open an account with Bank having facility of online payment of all taxes, there are some banks ie HDFC ,ICICI , Union Bank of India , Canara Bank , Central Bank of India , Andhra Bank , Bank of Baroda ,
