This query is : Open

Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies e-invoicing requirements, stating that businesses with a turnover of ₹50 crore or more in previous financial years (2017-18 to 2020-21) must register. While ERP software isn't mandatory, some form of software is required for e-invoicing, and it differs significantly from GSTR-9C filings. GST Suvidha Providers are authorised entities that facilitate GST compliance, including e-invoice generation, with offline utilities also available on the IRP portal.

07 July 2021 Hello Sir/Madam, Kindly Enlighten me on this Topic E-invoicing. Who are all to get registered under the Invoice Registration portal? Is it Mandatory to use ERP software ? Will it be similar to GSTR 9C filings? Whats the role of GST suvidha provider? Thanks in advance.

07 July 2021 E invoicing is applicable to registered persons who are having turnover of 50 crores or more in any of the previous years from 2017-18 to 2020-21.
Using ERP is not mandatory but you will have to use some kind of software for e-invoicing.
No it is not similar to GSTR-9C at all.
GST Suvidha Providers are those persons who have been authorized by GSTN itself to provide software or platforms for GST compliances.

08 July 2021 Supplementing to the above reply, there is an offline utility available in IRP portal for generation of e-invoice like offline tool used in GST portal for filing GSTR-1, which can be made use of to generate e-invoice. Most of the GSP's have their own ASP (Application Service provider) platform's through which they facilitate e-invoice generation. Besides such services are available now in the market at a very competitive prices based on your entity's volume of transactions.
