please guide me
My friend is working with MNC since 2008 and his salary is round about 60000p.m.. Company properly
deduct TDS from his salary and also issue Form 16A on required period, He has also made investment in
various securities, paying LIC premium (his own, his child, ). Due to his job he has to reside and move to
various towns so for last 4 assessment year he get unable to file his return . Now he required loan amount
and bank ask for Return for last 3 years. He want to know
1. Belated return for which -which Assessment year is possible.
2. which penalty will be applicable.
3. Is it possible to get refund of TDS and adjustment of TDS .
4. whether it is possible to file belated return
5.Whether e-filing of return is possible for last 3 asstt year.

27 November 2011 1. Belated return of AY 2010-2011 & AY 2011-2012 is possible.

2. Section 271F. If a person who is required to furnish a return of his income, as required under sub-section (1) of section 139 or by the provisos to that sub-section, fails to furnish such return before the end of the relevant assessment year, the Assessing Officer may direct that such person shall pay, by way of penalty, a sum of five thousand rupees.]
