is e-filing is applicable to all for AY 2008-09 or to certain section only if so please give me the details

As per Notification No. 34/2008 dated 13-3-2008 Central Board of Direct Taxes have made electronic payment of taxes mandatory for the following categories of tax payers w.e.f. 01.04.2008 :
a. A company
b. A person (other than a company), to whom provisions of Section 44AB are applicable.

E-filing is mandatory only for a company and a firm which is liable for tax audit. For all other categories e-filing is optional.
