Due Date for Filling MVAT Return for March 2010.

24 August 2010 Sir,

We all know that the due for payment of VAt for the Quarter ended 31/03/2010 is 21/04/2010. and if the payment is made on or before this date then the return can be uploaded within 10 days i.e. upto 30/04/2010.

Now, for the March 2010 due date for uploading the return was extended upto 03/05/2010. but I dont have the circular confirming such extention.

I need a documentary support to produce before the AO about the extention as he has issued a notice of penaly of Rs. 5000/- for late filing of Return for the March 2010. (Return was uploaded on 01/05/2010 by the assessee.

Please prode me with the necessary evidence at the earliest...

however there is no such mention of extention of due date here.

26 August 2010 There was a circular for June 2010 i think but not for March.
