Due date for deposit of tds on salary for march 2012

02 April 2012 Can any one provide me what is the due date for deposit of TDS on Salary for the month of March 2012 ? as per Reckoner (Taxxman ) as per para 174.1 it seems that Due date is April 30, Please clarify with supportive evidence.

05 April 2012 Dear Navdeep,

As per the Income Tax Rules, Rule No. 30 provide that, All sums deducted in accordance with the provisions of Chapter XVII-B by deductors other than an office of the Government shall be paid to the credit of the Central Government—
a) on or before 30th day of April where the income or amount is credited or paid in the month of March; and

b) in any other case, on or before seven days from the end of the month in which—

(i) the deduction is made; or

(ii) income-tax is due under sub-section (1A) of section 192.

There for the Deposit date for March 2012, whether Credit or Paid is 30th April 2012.
