Due Date Clarity

This query is : Resolved

25 July 2026 Hi,

I was a partner in a partnership firm and rendered my resignation on 31/03/2026. The firm has incurred business income in FY 25-26 but tax audit does not apply to it.
What will be due date for the firm and for me as an individual for ITR Filling FY 25-26?

Thanks

25 July 2026 Since tax audit u/s 44AB is not applicable to the firm, the due date for the firm's ITR-5 for FY 2025-26 (AY 2026-27) is 31st August 2026 (extended from 31st July under the Finance Act, 2026 relaxation for non-audit ITR-3/4/5 filers). As your resignation was effective 31/03/2026 (within FY 25-26), you'll need to file ITR-3 for your share of profit (exempt u/s 10(2A)) and any remuneration/interest received, with the same 31st August 2026 due date — provided no other income of yours independently triggers an audit requirement.
