18 May 2016 Both are different.

Dividend is also to be called "final dividend" declared and calculated on determination of profitability and financial position of the company at the end of the year while Interim dividend is paid during the running financial year from undistributed profits.

18 May 2016 Final dividend is always paid after finalization of accounts.

Declaring dividend is an ordinary business to be discussed at AGM which is generally accepted by shareholders at the meeting.Final dividend is proposed by Board of directors and cannot be more than recommendation provided in Director's report which is in accordance with articles of association.
