01 June 2010 Please tell me if a company pay dividend rs.50000/-to its shareholder then what would be the journal entry, should it be shown in profit and loss account as expense, please tell me all about the this expense

01 June 2010 This is not an expense. It is pay out from profit. You have to debit Profit and Loss appropriation and credit dividend payable at the time of provisioning and at the time of payment dividend payable to bank should be the entry.
