Can I apply for Digital Signature Certificate through On-line? What are the procedures to do it in On-line? When I try to do it through Tata Consultancy Services in on-line, a message to contact with Registration Authority is displayed.

01 March 2010 TCS is the DSC provider who appoints various registration authroties. In simple words, an agency to whom the activity of issuing DSC is outsourced to the extent of bringing in clients and obtaining the basic information.

You should contact a Registration Authority who works on-line, if you want the DSC on-line. To be best of my knowledge, Link Intime Registry Limited who is also one of the leading Registrars and Share Transfer Agents is a Registration Authority appointed by TCS and they provide DSC on the basis of on-line applications as well as off-line applications.

Obtaining DSC off-line is also easy and you may decide on the basis of your urgency.
