Procedure to find differences:
Gather necessary documents like Previous year's financial statements (Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss Account) General Ledger accounts Journal entries etc.
Compare the current year's opening balances with the previous year's closing balances & Identify accounts with discrepancies
Review journal entries, ledger accounts, and financial statements & Verify transactions and postings. Check for unrecorded transactions or errors
Pass adjusting journal entries to correct errors or omissions & Update opening balances to reflect correct figures
Then Verify and reconcile
