Is a Body corporate different from public or private companies?

A body corporate includes both Private as well as Public. In fact the two are the sub classes of the general term body corporate.

Body corporate is as defined in Section 2(7) of the Companies Act, 1956 including Company as defined under the Companies Act. Jence, Body corporate includes both public as well as private Company.
