27 November 2014 Please can anyone explain the difference between High seas sales and Sale in course of Import u/s 5(2) of CST act with examples. In our case company is in Mumbai, which imports goods from abroad. These goods are directly transferred to another party within India by giving appropriate instructions to the importer. HSS agreement is entered between the company & party to whom goods are transferred. Can the above transaction be treated as High seas sale?

Further what if goods are imported and then exported directly from the importers port. Can such transaction be classified as import on one hand and export on another?

28 November 2014 high sea sale happen when your goods ship form the abroad in the mid way of your country and export country. then you make agreement and sell the goods

in import when goods come on indian port and coming to importer then in mid way he sell the goods to another.
