what is the Difference between escalation clause and cost plus contract

Under esclation clause, if there is increase in prices of material or labour due to inflation or whatever be the reason, contract price will also change, whereas under cost plus contract increase in prices don't have any impact on contract price rather a profit percentage is added in cost to determine contract price.
