Details of ay 14-15 filled in itr of ay 15-16 and uploaded

14 March 2016 I was filling the return for AY 14-15 it was my 1st return so I did not know that there are different Itr forms for different AY
So what happened was I filled the details of AY 14-15 I.e. my professional income my bank interest and tds deducted details in the ITR of AY 15-16 and it was uploaded in AY 15-16. I realised this mistake after I had already e verified the return. Now I cannot revise the return as it is already after due date. And I cannot even upload my actual return for AY 15-16

What can I do in this situation? Can any one please give any suggestions

15 March 2016 You can still fil the ITR for 2014 - 15 on line till the 31st March 2016. Do it immediately.

Submit a petition to your assessing officer, stating the mistake and that you have rectified the mistake by filing correct return for 2914 - 15. In the meantime, it is likely that your e-filed return may be rejected as faulty under section 139 (9) and you will be given an opportunity to rectify the mistake. In your petition to your assessing officer ask him to advise CPC to reject your return as faulty.

The advise of Meena Rajesh Jalan is also worth considering, but it does not solve your problem.
