You can open a demat account via your local stock broker. Just dial and ask your near by stock brokers. It can be Sharekhan, HDFC securities, ICICI securities, Kotak securities etc. The adv with a recognised broker is the investing software they provide. Usually a good one which small time brokers don't have.
