Dear all,
my client, having only salary income, received demand notice of Rs.1230 for the AY 97-98 on 19th july,2011. i want ot know that
1. whether demand notice is time barred?
2. should i suggest to pay the amount mentioned in the notice?

Hi,
First of all, if it is a demand notice and not an intimation, then we will have to check and is this demand was really outstanding from 1997-98 and for this demand, an assessment order or intimation has already been issued earlier?

but there is no any single record for the same year. then how can i seek from this issue.?
