12 January 2023 One of my Client filed ITR 1 salary income return wrongly instead ITR 4, professional Income. Income shown is less than AS 26, department asked to rectify the mistake. Now, Iam doing this job for him. Iam chartered Accountant in practice. While filing return U/s 139(9) an error message is coming "value 10 serial cant be more than value no.6a. Please enter proper values in serial no.4/ 6 a as applicable." Actualy this error message is relates to updated return ( ITR U) not for U/s 139 (9) return. Please clarify

12 January 2023 Is the error reflected on schedule TDS 2?
Or any other schedule?

13 January 2023 I checked with income tax department and winman software. As per them the problem with IT utility. they will rectify the mistakes shortly. while uploading 139(9) error message is coming that is supposed to come while filing ITR (U). serial No. 4 and 6a pertains to ITR (U) not for defect rectified return. Anyway problem is not yet solved.

16 January 2023 Winman is my Income Tax Software. I raised the problem of defect rectified return to them also. the latest reply from them is :
For Defective return u/s 139(9) Part B-ATI is not applicable. Still, error is shown mentioning mismatch in values of Part B-ATI. The error appears while uploading the JSON file generated using Dept. utility also.
As per the communication with e-filing Helpdesk, this issue is already noted and will soon be resolved by them.
