Deduction of telephone expenses

15 May 2012 whether it is necessary to submit bills of telephone to employer in order to claim reimbursement of telephone as exempt perquisites.

further, whether deduction u/s 37 will be available to company in absence of bills of telephone expenses incurred by employees.

15 May 2012 To claim deduction, it will be necessary for the company to have the bills. So, in turn the company shall demand bills from the employees.

15 May 2012 thanks sir for your response, but in case company ask employees to fill the detail of bill online on company's intranet and keeps the bills with them, will it be O.K.

15 May 2012 But still the bills need to be collected and preserved at company's end. It will be safer for the company itself.
