DEATH OF THE FIX DEPOSIT HOLDER BEFORE MATURITY

This query is : Resolved

Quick Summary
A nominee is seeking to retain their mother's fixed deposit (FD) with a favourable 9.25% interest rate after her passing. The nominee wishes to transfer the FD into their name without breaking it, to maintain the high interest until its 2025 maturity date. However, the bank is currently refusing this request, and the nominee is looking for advice on alternative solutions or legal avenues to achieve this.

06 December 2021 My mother died in august 2021. She was holding fix deposit @9.25% in a bank with the maturity date of in 2025. Being a nominee I don't want to break the fix deposit since the interest was on higher side. I want the same fix deposit to be transferred in my name with the same interest rate. Is is possible to do so. The bank is refusing to do the same. Please advice.

06 December 2021 If bank do not agree to continue the FD in your i.e. nominee's name, no alternative.

08 December 2021 Hello Sir,

Is there any other way-out to continue the fix deposit till maturity.

08 December 2021 ANY LEGAL DISPUTE FOR APPOINTMENT OF NOMINEE....

08 December 2021 Sir
No dispute whatsoever. I am the sole nominee. Its just that the rate is high @9.25 and I don't need the funds now.

08 December 2021 NO other legal option, but to request the bank to continue the FD as per recent terms.
