my client business of marbal& tiles etc.purchase from rajsthan purchase bill 28.03.08. purchase goods UP bordar cross 01.04.08 & entry in 31 form 01.04.08. purchase goods received 03.04.08.

it depende upon accounting policy adopted by the client throughout the year.
if they record on receipt basis,then reord the purchase in f.y 08-09.
if they record on receipt basis,then reord the purchase in f.y 08-09.

Record the transation on 28.03.08....but the closing stock should be adjusted with goods in trasit.....
