10 May 2016 DEAR SIR/MAM, I COMPLETE MY CA IN MAY 2015 ATTEMPT & GOT MEMBERSHIP NO. IN SEPTMBER 2015,BUT UPTO 31ST MAY 2016 , HOW MANY CPE CREDIT HOURS I SHOULD HAVE TO AVAILED.I AM NOT IN PRACTICE. KINDLY ASSIST.

11 May 2016 Dear Sir,
I did cleared my CA Final in May 2015 as well. As per my understanding newly enrolled member is exempted for the particular calendar year during which he gets his membership for the first time. for rest of the year/s in the block he has to do proportionate CPE hour.
In our case we are exempted for the calendar year 2015, we have to do proportionate CPE hours for the calendar year 2016 (i.e. 15 in your case)

13 May 2016 kindly explain the following notification.

The examination process inter alia includes a procedure of having the answer books checked, after evaluation by examiners, by Checkers to ensure that all answers have been evaluated, marks awarded have been carried forward to the cover page of the answer books and that the totalling of marks is correct.

ICAI had a centralized system of empanelling checkers before each exam, assigning them duties and paying them directly, until recently.

While the process of checking shall continue, it has been decided to discontinue the practice of centralised empanelment of checkers, appointment, allotment of assignments and direct payments by the Institute. It has further been decided that henceforth, examiners shall appoint Checkers and have the answer books checked, pay them honorarium and claim the same in their bill.

The abovementioned arrangement comes into effect from May 2016 examinations onwards.
