19 July 2013 Hi...I am a newly qualified CA. I have interest in Costing & MAFA. Can anyone tell me courses & career opportunities in both of these fields? I am ready to pursue any 1 of these for specialization. Plz advice about the courses..

19 July 2013 In my view it will be best you can do CMA from The Institute of Cost Accountants of India. It will give be specialization in Cost and also in Management Accountancy.

22 July 2013 CIMA is also good but i will prefer The Institute of Cost Accountants of India over it since it is a Statutory body under an Act of Parliament. In PSU for F & A they ask for CA/ICWA. So in my view ICWA will be better.

23 July 2013 Sir, can u tell abt exemption if any to a qualified CA while doing CMA?

And what is the duration of the course?

23 July 2013 Only exemption is from Appearing in Foundation Exam. You can enroll directly into Intermediate exams. But no exemption in any pap[er of Inter or Final exams.

Duration is 3 years Minimum.

24 July 2013 Master in Business Finance Certificate Course from ICAI. Duration 1 year.
