COP with job in big4 ?

29 August 2010 hi my question is that when i had filled form 2 initially i applied for cop n at time i had no job.
then i got job in big 4 in statutory audit.
so now whether i need to surrender cop or apply for part time cop? Also do i need to intimate icai abt my job in big 4? will big 4 hv any problem if i holp cop? pls help.

29 August 2010 You can join Big 4 as an employee. However, in such case the Full time COP will be converted into Part Time COP. Just intimate Institute about your fact of joining the industry.

Apply to the ICAI in Form 6. In case the permission for engaging in other occupation has not been obtained then application for the same need to be attached with Form 6. Part Time COP Holder cannot certify, sign or attest any documents which requires the signatures of Practicing CA.

The point of problem is not for Big 4 or ICAI, rather it is as per the rule that you can not hold full time COP and Job at the same time. So it is ethicallly wrong.
