Is it mandatory to be on panel of Registrar of cooperative society for conducting audit of housing society in maharashtra (navi mumbai)
OR
Practicing Chartered Accountant can conduct audit of housing society, even if he is not on panel of Registrar

Yes it is mandatory to be registered on penal for conducting audit of co-operative society.

This is for your kind information, I have received email from WIRC regarding empanelment of society audit of Maharashtra which read as under,
'Last date for application of empanelment for Co-operative audits has been extended till Sunday, 21st September, 2014 till 11:59 p.m. For more details kindly refer the www. mahasahakar.maharashtra.gov.in website.'
