When will the companies act 2012 become effective ? If it has already become effective then what is the date from which it has come into effect ?

FLASH!!!!
1)clarified that the proposed Companies Act, 2013 will not be applicable for the Intermediate (IPC) and Final Examinations to be held in May 2014.
2)Regarding the applicability for November 2014 Examination, the decision will be taken based on the exact date of enactment of the above Companies Bill into the Act.

Thanks for the reply, however, my question was not with respect to applicability for exams , it was with respect to actual companies ... I think I got the answer , the Companies Bill 2012 has been passed in the Rajya Sabha but it is yet to receive approval of the President , till then it will not apply to any company ... Am I correct ?

Companies Bill will be applicable when it receives the assent of the President of India.
Thereafter it will become Companies Act, 2012 and shall be applicable.

Yes,,companies bill once approved by president and published in office gazette it will become act..
MCA will announce the applicability of the same to companies as and when it becomes act

Recently icai released one more notification in 23.08.2013 that there is chance that companies act2012 may applicable for may2014 also
