communication with previous auditor

Before taking VAT Audit, is it required for incoming auditor to communicate with previous auditor as required under clause (VIII) Part-I, Schedule - I?

Hi Manjunatha,
VAT Audit need not be conducted by the Stat Auditor. The same can be conducted by any Chartered Accountant in practice.
There is no requirement for communicating in writing by the previous auditor. The said requirement is for stat auditor and that too if there is a change in the stat auditor.
