Clubbing of income

If the spouse of assessee is joint owner in the registry of house/property and receiving rent for the same then is the interest earned on fixed deposit (gifted by assesse) and the rent received by spouse be clubbed in the income of the assessee?

who has funded the fixed deposit and who has earned that? rent will be clubbed if the property is actually purchased by earnings of male assessee.
