Under section 80TTA introduced from AY 13-14, interest upto 10000 on savings bank account is exempted or deducted?

It is a deduction under chapter VI A and not exemption..

Its a Deduction in respect of interest on deposits in savings account under Section 80TTA of Income Tax Act, 1961..
