Changing from Old Regime to New Regime in Portal

Quick Summary

By downloading a preview of your current entries, you can then select the new regime option. While some data, particularly deductions under Chapter VI (which are unavailable in the new regime), may need to be re-entered, your core information will be preserved.

17 July 2024 I have entered all the details in the tax portal on the basis of old regime. Details are checked and is almost final though not submitted for filing. I realized that the tax to be paid in new regime is less. Can I switch to new regime
in the option that is provided when you resume filing and proceed further to the schedules, without the entered data being cleared (except may be the deductions under Chapter VI)?

17 July 2024 Down load the data in pdf format (preview), then change the option. Some of the data that gets changed can be copied/retyped from the preview file.

17 July 2024 Done. No data lost. Only entries in Schedule Chap VI (deductions) which were entered has been made zero.

17 July 2024 Good Luck... Those deductions are not available in New regime, hence ZERO.
