Change of name in investments after marriage

14 October 2013 I would like to know whether is it necessary to update my name change in my earlier investments(before marriage) I already have an updated Pan card with my change in surname.

14 October 2013 you can change the existing nominations by cancelling the original ones and making new ones in F/O your wife,in this regard u does not require the consent of the earlier nominees for cancellation.

The first thing to be done is updating documents-getting the marriage certificate, applying for change of name in PAN card, u have already update now update voter ID card, bank accounts, and changing the nominee in investments and insurance policies.

Marriage brings responsibilities.So, the insurance cover should be increased. A pre-requisite is to buy a pure-protection life plan. Also, change the individual medical cover into a family floater policy with higher sum insured.
