Change of father's name in pan card & income tax records

19 September 2013 Please provide a complete process to change the Father's name in Pan Card & the Income Tax Records. The person is adopted & hence wish to change the old father's name to new father's name.

19 September 2013 You can change father name IN PAN /ITD by applying PAN CORRECTION APPLICATION AND ENCLOSE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS
1) PAN XEROX COPY

2) Verification Certificate. ISSUED BY THE GAZETTED OFFICER (Certificate under provisions of rule 114(4) of Income Tax Rules, 1962). (Affix your photograph )
And submit nearest TIN-FC CENTER
3) One xerox copy Vrefication certificate kept with for your future reference, (if any intimation/clarification from ITD After applying of CORRECTION APPLICATION)

20 September 2013 Thank you Sir, I had applied for the change of father's name in Pan Correction form to the Nsdl, but they said that the Biological Father's name cant be changed in PAN Card or the Income Tax records. If possible please provide the format of the Verification Certificate or at least the content of that certificate.
