01 July 2012 Hello,
I am setting up a NGO I just want to knw wht r the certificates I should have so tht the NGO can take the donations and can provide a TAX FREE receipt to the doner?
If other thn this any certificates needed plz help me with tht also?

02 July 2012 Pls registered u/s 80G (application in Form 10G is required). On registration under this section only you can issue certificates to the donors.

Pls consult a chartered accountant and he can guide you regarding the requirements for such registration.

02 July 2012 12A certificate you referred to is required for registration of charitable or religious trust or institution. This certificate is prerequisite for registration u/s 80G except that when its has been notified u/s 10(23) or 10(23C).

You may pls consult a Chartered accountant who can guide you properly.
