27 August 2010 Hey friends, Can a CA holding a Certificate of Practice join Industry... i.e. part time Practice and part time industry. If yes can he register articles under him? And what is the procedure for the same.

28 August 2010 Yes COP Holder can also join Industry. However, in such case the Full time COP will be converted into Part Time COP. Just intimate Institute about your fact of joining the industry.

Also with Part Time COP, you are not allowed to Train article under you.

Apply to the ICAI in Form 6. In case the permission for engaging in other occupation has not been obtained then application for the same need to be attached with Form 6. Part Time COP Holder cannot certify, sign or attest any documents which requires the signatures of Practicing CA.
