Cenvat on cable used independent feeding electricity line

24 January 2012 Hi I want to know that one of my client is putting independent feeding electricity line from main line till factory site at our own cost. My question is can they avail the cenvat on the goods used in putting the feeding line under capital goods?

26 January 2012 no input credit on cables, as cables are not "used" within factory of production.

27 January 2012 Dear Mr. Sharma can you give me some citation of decided cases on this subject as some experts are of the opinion that they can avail the cenvat since it is a separate line and directly related to production.
