Cenvat credit on self invoices

A Company has cleared goods on payment of duty. Subsequently the material was called back before the material reaches the customers location. Can we avail cenvat credit on self documented invoice, please explain?

Yes You can if the materials are brought back for any re-work the company can avail the Cenvat and after removal will again have to pay the amount of duty
Under Rule 16
but if after any re-work the process amounts to manufacture then in case of removal excise duty would be payable at the rate as on that date of removal

One more clarification.
If the material has been rejected by the customer and sent back. The rejected material on receipt at our end was scrapped. Can we avail cenvat credit on the rejected material sent by our customer

yes you can take the cenvat credit on the duty paid goods. But depend upon the products because duty will be applicable on scrap also.
