28 September 2012 cenvat is a scheme under excise, that where the manufactured goods are liable to excise duty payment by manufacturer, the manufacturer has option to avail input credit of Excise paid on their purchase, on the basis of prescribed documents. for details refer CCR 2004, under www.cbec.gov.in
