30 August 2011 Is there any ceiling limit for being a managing director in more than one company.

31 August 2011 Dear Sada Abdulkarim Dalvi,

A person who can hold the post of MD in more than one company only and the condition is the company is a public co., or pvt co which is a subsidiary of pub co.

A person can hold any no. of MD post in a purely private co. there is no restrictions for the private co.

If a person wants to be more than two companies as MD in public and private then he/ she should apply for the central govt. approval.
