09 November 2012 I'm a B.Com Graduate and am interested in pursuing CA and now that Direct entry to IPCC rule has passed, There is this problem. As one has to take up 9 months of articleship along with IPCC studies to be eligible for that IPCC exam and I don't think It would be easy to take this way(as I want to concentrate more on studies than on articles). And Even though these 9 months will be cancelled from the overall 3 years articles, I'm not in favour of this.

And another rule which says If a candidate is a CS Inter/CWA Inter pass out. He/she can go straight away to study and take up articles once he/she is a CA Inter(as usual).

So, I have decided to take up CS first and complete Inter so that articleship can be avoided till I complete and get through IPCC exam and will continue once 1 complete my IPCC exam. This is how it goes:

1st complete CS Inter > register for IPCC and study > clear it > go on 3 years articles(Instead of getting a 9 months exemption, If i had gone straight away with B.Com Only)

And then once I'm doing my articles I'll take up CS(final) side by side. If not possible will do It once i complete my CA(final) and also get an exception for CS(final).

My main priority is CA and CS being my secondary qualification. also assist me on CS articleship, should I take up?
as my concern is on CA.

Am I doing right, Assist me as i'm really serious about this.

11 November 2012 Your course of action is absolutely correct. I would like to add one small syntax...... Please do not look at the articleship on stand alone basis. Let it go hand in hand with the study. In fact it is meant to be so. Please do not delink the same from the study.

yes, absolutely I'm not side lining articleship and am taking it seriously.

The reason is I want concentrate more on studies first as articleship along with studies will give adverse effect on my studies -35 hrs a week can be devoted to studies and then i can go on with 3 years of articles.

Am I right?

12 November 2012 Not really..... articleship is to be viewed as STUDY. Additional theoretical study you can opt for as per your STAMINA. For example...7days a week =168 clock hours.
Sleep/ mind recreation = 50 hrs
Articleship 35 hrs
Travelling Time 15 hrs
Now comes the question of your stamina of Theoretical study... and so on.

thanks again for spending the valuable time sir and i will consider the above things and go thereafter.

But here's a another doubt:
what about cs articleship?? should i take up despite i concentrating on CA when it comes to practice.

20 November 2012 "One at a time " principle has always better chance of WINNING. Please follow that in articleship as well.
