10 September 2010 if a plot of land is sold. And the gains on the land is short term. At what rate is it chargeable to tax ?

10 September 2010 Dear Ashay,

In this case STCG will be chargeable from normal rate of taxes.

Please note that 15% rate on STCG applicable only on Equity Shares transferred not on any other STCG.
