Cancellation of voluntary registration of gst

30 November 2017 I AM A MUTUAL FUND AGENT . I GOT REGISTERED UNDER GST , BUT AS MY TURNOVER IS MUCH BELOW 20 LACS /10 LACS , NOW THE REGISTRATION IS NOT NEEDED .. I WANT TO SURRENDER ,BUT I AM TOLD VOLUNTARY REGN CAN BE SURRENDERED AFTER ONE YEAR , THIS IS SURPRISING . SO WILL I HAVE TO KEEP FILING RETURN UNNECESSARILY FOR 1 YEAR OR THERE IS SOME WAY OUT ? kindly guide me

01 December 2017 As Per Provision to Rule 20 of CGST Rules, no application for the cancellation of registration shall be considered
in case of a taxable person, who has registered voluntarily, before the expiry of a period
of one year from the effective date of registration.

So no way out. and its not that you only have to file the returns, you have to pay the tax on the value of service/goods supplied by you at the applicable rate even if your turn over is less than Rs. 20 Lakhs.

04 December 2017 thank you ca mayur ! but not a satisfactoty solution , because as per current rules i am neither liable for gst payment/collection , nor for registration .based on my low turnover ... my only fault is that without waiting for relaxations which came later, i got registered early ....pl find some solution
